Inclusive Leadership Company are pleased to announce the appointment of Perry Burton, Head of Partner Development and Engagement at Grant Thornton UK LLP as an independent business advisor.
Perry is a member of the Strategic Leadership Team at Grant Thornton and in this role, he is responsible for creating a market-leading partner experience that attracts and retains a diverse group of business leaders and ensures they receive the development they need to contribute their best to the firm’s growth and success.
Prior to this Perry was Grant Thornton’s Head of People and Brand for 5 years responsible for attracting clients to the firm and attracting and retaining the firm’s 5500 people. Central to this role was the firms Inclusion and Diversity Strategy. At the end of Perry’s time in this role, Grant Thornton achieved record high belonging and inclusion scores and was the highest-ranking Large Accounting firm in 7 of Glassdoor’s 9 employee rating scores. In addition, during Perry’s tenure as Head of People & Brand, the firm introduced Wellbeing Days, Birthday Leave, enhanced its Family Leave offering, adopted hybrid working and has since experimented with even more flexible ways of working.
For 25 years, Perry was a client facing partner in audit, transaction support, corporate finance and consulting and has held leadership roles in the firms since 2007. During this time Perry and has worked with various boards on leadership and cultural change. He is a qualified coach and holds an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School.

Perry grew up in a caravan in Addlestone, Surrey, and went to the local comprehensive school which closed due to continuing poor performance. He left school at 16 with three O-levels.
He is married to Sandra and has three children, Kira (24), Owen (21) and Hannah (17). His main passions away from business are football, golf, running, reading, music, wine and travel. Perry passion for inclusion and diversity comes from a strong belief about how people should trat one another and his own experiences with Mental Health (in light of his own experience with anxiety and depression) and Social Mobility.
